Before beginning:
Login to your GroupWise account from the regular
GroupWise client.
Click on "Help" and then click "About GroupWise".
Write down the following information
Which will be needed when configuring your remote
mailbox. Then close GroupWise.
TCP/IP address or "DNS Name":
TCP/IP Port:
Post Office:
1 Double click on the GroupWise shortcut. At the
GroupWise login prompt click "Cancel".
2 At the GroupWise Startup Box the “Path to remote
mailbox” is set by default to
"C:\Novell\GroupWise\remote".
Note: This default location
can be changed if you have a more suitable location.
Your D: drive may provide more space and a more secure location.
3 You will be prompted to create an account.
For "Account Name" type your full name.
For "Account Type" select "GroupWise"
and click next.
4 For user "Id" type your GroupWise user ID.
For "Domain" type "PMH".
For "Post Office" type your post office
from the information gathered earlier.
For the "From" name type your full
name.
For "Master Mailbox Password" type
your GroupWise password.
Click next.
5 Click on the "Connect To" box and choose "TCP/IP"
and click ok.
For connection name type "TCP/IP"
Type in your TCP/IP address or DNS
Domain name and port number from the information
gathered earlier.
Leave other options at default and
click ok
Highlight the "TCP/IP" connection and
then click "Select".
Click finish.
6 To synchronize your mailbox.
From the tool bar click on "Accounts"
select "Send and Receive" and then click on your
name. A box will appear showing the
status of the folders and mail items being
synchronized. If this is the first
time you synchronize your mail box this may take a few
minuets.
7 To switch to your on line mailbox click on "File"
then click "Mode" then select "On Line".
You will be prompted that GroupWise
must be Re-started. Click ok to Re-Start
GroupWise.
To customize your Send/Retrieve
options
1 Click on "Accounts" then click "Send/Retrieve"
then select "GroupWise Options".
2 Click the "Advanced" button to configure which
mail item types and folders to
Send/Retrieve.
3 Click the "Configure" button to configure the
connection settings.
Under the "Advanced" tab you will also
find the same advance settings as in step 2 above
in addition to these additional settings.
