Q. How do I check my mailbox size?
A. GroupWise has a feature called "Check Mailbox Size".
1 Login to your GroupWise account. You
will need to login using the
regular GroupWise client.
2 Click on “Tools” and select “Check Mailbox Size”.
3 You will see this window.
4 The “Mailbox Information” section
gives your "Current mailbox size" and
the “Maximum storage limit” information..
5 You can choose to view the Trash, Sent Items, Received Items
or Posted and
Draft items by selecting the folder to view from
within the “View” box.
6 In the lower half of the window you will see your mail items
listed.
You can click on any one of the headings, Size, Date,
Subject or From
to sort by that column.
Q. What is the quickest
way to reduce the size of my GroupWise mailbox?
A. Delete the largest emails first.
Method One, using the Check Mailbox
size feature.
The quickest and easiest way to reduce the size of your mailbox is
to delete the largest
mail items first. You will want to use the "Check mailbox size" feature.
Sort by size and
delete your largest emails. If you wish to save the attachments contained
in emails you are going
to delete you should save the attachments to a network drive. Consult
your manager for the
appropriate location.
Large emails are normally some of the following.
PostMaster Mail
Emails with attachments
Method Two, Using the GroupWise Client's "Find" feature.
1 Login to your GroupWise Account.
2 If you want to delete mail from your Archive, access your Archive
by clicking File,
then Open Archive.
3 Click Tools, then select Find.
4 Un-check All Libraries.
5 Click “OK” to begin the search.
6 You will see this "Find Results" window.
7 To sort by message size, you will need to add the "Size" column.
8 Right click on the Name column heading or on any one of the
other column
headings and select the option "More Columns".
9 From the Available Columns field, select Size, then click Add.
10 The Size column should now be listed in the Selected Columns
field.
11 Select Size in the Selected Columns field and click Up to
move the Size
column to the top. Click OK.
12 In the GroupWise Find Results window, right click on the Size column
heading and select
Descending or Ascending.
13 Now you can easily find and delete any large e-mail messages you
no longer need.
You can also right click on a selected message
and choose Save As to save the large
e-mail messages and attachments to a location
outside GroupWise for safe keeping. If you
do this, remember to delete and empty the
item from your Mailbox or Archive to free up
space.
14 You can also sort by other columns such as Subject, Date, and Name
to sort and find the
e-mail messages you wish to delete.
Q. Why do I get messages warning me about
my mailbox storage limit?
A. You have either exceeded or are close to exceeding your mailbox
size limit.
You will need to delete some messages to
free up some space.
Parkland Health and Hospitals GroupWise email
system has a maximum Mailbox size limit of
100 MB. You will see the following system messages informing you of
the status of your mailbox
size.
1 Warning message that
appears when a user is sending a message and the users mailbox has
reached
90% of the maximum mailbox size limit. User will be able to send messages
until
the limit
has exceeded.
This message appears when sending a message
while using the regular GroupWise client
This message appears when using WebAccess Client
at time of login.
2 Message that appears
if a user has exceeded the maximum mailbox size limit.
You will need to delete
some email items to free up space and get below the maximum mailbox size
limit.
Until then:
You
will not be able to :
Send,
reply to or forward e-mail.
Send
appointments, Task, Reminder notes or phone messages
You
will still be allowed to:
Receive
Mail and Appointments
Read mail and send a posted
appointment.
This message appears when trying to send a message while using the
regular GroupWise client
This message appears when trying to send a message while using the
WebAccess client.
